Easter decorations: our tips to enhance your table
Are you entertaining your family during the Easter holidays? Have you already thought about your table setting? A beautiful decoration is an opportunity to add color and a touch of joy to your home. So, take the time to think about your ornamentation down to the smallest detail.
To help you, we share our top tips for choosing your table linens with care and our decorating ideas for creating an elegant and invigorating Easter table.
WHICH TABLECLOTH TO CHOOSE ?
WHITE OR COLOR?
Make Easter an ode to spring with a sweet and sour decoration. To do this, choose table linens in fresh colors - why not from our linen tablecloths, Florence? -, in pastel tones, which will bring a lot of conviviality to the table.
If you prefer a sober atmosphere, choose a bright white tablecloth. An immaculate base very refined for a decoration all in details and colors.
Not a fan of tablecloths? Place table runners and napkins on the table. In any case, prefer natural materials, such as linen or cotton, which are not only pleasant to the touch, but also offer real durability and a more authentic look.
DECORATION, COLORS, ATMOSPHERE
If you have chosen a colored tablecloth, match the rest of your decoration with the chosen hue. Use ornaments, napkins or flowers in the associated gradations. A few contrasting touches can be added for more relief.
However, as we said earlier, white or neutral tablecloths allow more fantasy in the decoration. This could be the opportunity to have fun with the colors of your Easter table. Our best recommendation? A combination of greens and yellows, the spring colors par excellence, which will pay tribute to the return of the lush greenery that we love so much.
DRESS UP YOUR TOWELS!
In addition to the traditional folding of the napkin rings, carefully selected napkin rings can give a refined look to the decoration. Natural, wooden napkin holders enhance table linens with character. Choose contrasting ones in a darker wood to create a more raw décor.
And if you're feeling artistic, why not make your own napkin ring? The simplest version is to wrap a floral branch around the folded napkin, twisted around a wire beforehand.
If you're looking for originality, the towel rack can be the delicate combination of plant-based pieces. Our favorite combination: a hollowed-out quail egg (or small, hollow decorative eggs), string and a few flowering branches. Gently thread the yarn through the egg, make two turns of the towel, placing the egg firmly in the center of the cloth and tie a delicate knot. Then slip a branch of forsythia or a few small wildflowers between the towel and the thread. Bluffing effect guaranteed!
THE CENTERPIECE
Easter is also about spring, renewal... and egg hunts. Have fun with the codes of the season to create a bright and refreshing centerpiece.
FLOWERS
Spring is the time for lilies, daffodils, narcissus and tulips. Place them in your decorations, in large bouquets or in small arrangements.
Think also of the daisy! Often forgotten flower of the season, it is however poetic and country. An ornament that is used and abused!
EGGS
A must for Easter, eggs are to be scattered directly on the table. Choose natural, white or colored eggs and place them on the tablecloth or in elegant bowls.
Alternatively, create a richer decoration with a combination of straw, delicate flowers and pristine eggs in a wicker basket. Another possibility is the Easter wreath, which is similar to the Christmas wreath, but with seasonal ornaments.
THE EASTER TREE
The idea of the Easter tree? Choose a few pretty dried branches and dress them up with pretty decorations. A way to put on the table a grandiose piece and in perfect harmony with tradition.
Regarding the branches, it is now possible to find some - natural or artificial - in some shops, but why not take advantage of a walk outside to select the branches that you will use later?
For the decoration, it is customary to use small emptied eggs, made of plastic or wood. For your part, don't hesitate to have fun with materials and shapes by alternating colored eggs - acidulous or pastel according to your desires -, wooden decorations, origami or even ribbons.
Last tip: if there are children at home on this beautiful day, consider hiding some chocolates in the tree. An original way to launch their egg hunt... or the adults', go figure!
